Well, today I got my first motor bike.!!!!. first geared member to my house .

My brother and I were not given a bike during our teenage days… Reason is nothing but fear . Well, it was not a necessity I must admit in those days , but may be I was sad that I could not flaunt it before fellow friends and be an early adopter.

I really envy the kids of new age who has lot of freedom and opportunities to explore!!

My first bike ( bicycle) was a red trailblazer bought from MG road Cochin, when I joined 6th standard. Bicycle remained by best companion until 12th standard. It gave me wings , freedom from the hustle and bustle of private bus. I rode it almost 10–12 kilometers a day while studying in high school.

I still remember the advices in succession from parents and relatives on how to actually one should ride (< 5 km\hr ?? !!! ). My granny was kind of relieved , as she can save her coins being spent towards the bus conveyance!

I took it to whole village, ups and downs, in the woods, beside river, and to temple. I remember Thyag, my friend and classmate who helped me to master bicycle. He was very generous to lend me his big macho Hercules cycle on which his father used to carry milk to homes in our village. In the evenings after school , we used to ride to temple and the muddy lanes beside where I learned the first lessons of riding — My first on road training!

I had an advantage .. I could cycle sitting on the seat, thanks to my long legs and my fellow friends had to pedal with legs inserted between the triangular rods of the cycle !

Soon I mastered all ways of riding. Slowly I rode with one hand on the handle, and later with both hands lifted, with both legs lifted and placed on the handle bar etc. etc. !!!. My school bags had valve tubes, the rubber pieces with gum to fix punctures, spanners to do rim alignment and to check the chain issues. I moved from trailblazer to an MTB later..

Time passed by and I always longed for a bike….

…In spite of being the Benjamin of the family, I could not get a verdict in my favor at any point of time ,until we planned to move to our new house @ Hosur, Tamilnadu.

Though my plans were again put on ice for a while, at last I won the war of titans.

I finally found light at the end of the tunnel.

Better late than never, today I set an end to my long wait….when I put the first gear with a wobbly move with all insecurities of a newbie on road ,sitting on my beast and moved through NICE road, Bangalore which ‘trigger’ed a sense of pleasure… that every biker longs for.. something which I have been waiting for years together ..

Yes, you heard it right.. I actually have a Honda CB trigger standing on my doorway today !!!…

As rightly said by Honda, it’s time to ‘un-tame’ myself now !!.
